Round Cake Tier Servings

  • 6”   round cake tier: Serves between    12-15

  • 7”   round cake tier: Serves between    18-21

  •  8”  round cake tier: Serves between    23-26

  • 9”   round cake tier: Serves between    30-33

  • 10” round cake tier: Serves between    37-40

  • 11” round cake tier: Serves between    44-48

  • 12” round cake tier: Serves between    54-57

  • 13” round cake tier: Serves between    64-67

Other things to keep in mind


  • Sponge Cake portions are generally served double the size of fruit cake.

  • For fruit cake or mud cake portion sizes are generally 1” x 2.5” to be served at a wedding

  • You may wish to double this size for birthdays & other events.

  • Square Cakes Provide more portions per cake.

  • When deciding sizes for a wedding cake remember to decide if you want to keep your top tier.

  • When having several tiers make sizes are best increased by at least 2inch each tier for

    eg 6” 8” & 10”
